Au Loim Fain (I want to go home) by Romi Perbawa
2 in stock
Romi has spent years investigating the lives of Indonesian migrant workers. He set out on multiple journeys exploring the makeshift shacks built by migrants who work on palm oil plantations and construction sites in Malaysia. He traced the clandestine routes along the Indonesia-Malaysia borders and on to the unelectrified villages where those migrants are originated. These journeys allowed him to learn of the poignant stories of migrant workers’ children who have to be left behind by their migrant parents, and stories about their intense longing for a unified family.
Photos in the book were taken between 2014 and 2019 in Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
